Sherwood Brisbane

Kitchen
The Sherwood kitchen had been through the 1974 floods and had not been renovated since.  The owners wanted the kitchen to have a contemporary feel and to maximise benchspace by concealing the fridge and other appliances.

Solution
We created a dramatic transformation through the use of pale timbers, chrome fittings and dark benchtops.  To highlight the use of timbers we also exposed and polished the original floorboards.  Click on the image to see the full effect.

Bathroom
The owners were getting frustrated with builders when trying to renovate their bathroom.

The trouble was that no-one wanted to take on the job of removing the wall behind the bathtub.  This was needed to maximise the space available.

Solution
We knocked out the wall and changed the configuration of the shower to develop an open plan bathroom.  Floor to ceiling tiles were utilised to add sophistication and depth.

Hard to believe it but this is a Colonial style house's verandah.  Unfortunately we don't have the 'before' photos.

The owners wanted to convert this verandah into a bathroom with a 'Sheraton' feel.

Solution
We created both a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom.  Solid jarrah timber was used throughout and we smoked the glass door to the walk-in wardrobe.

(Picture 1 shows the solid jarrah and this smoked doorway to the walk-in wardrobe - picture 2 shows how effectively this hides the mess.  This is inside the wardrobe)

10mm toughened, frameless glass is used throughout.

A luxurious feel was created by installing a double vanity and a large, two-person shower.

A privacy screen made from obscured glass was instaled to hide the vision of the tiolet.

(Pictures 3 and 4 show the vanity and the shower)

The request from the owners was to modernise there very dated bathroom and incorporate a bath/shower combination with a install a new tiolet in the bathroom.

A large 1800mmx750mm deep bath was installed at the end aof the bathroom and a minimalistic framless shower screen was installed. The screen can fold back on itself to allow the bather to feel more open whilst relaxing.

Floor to ceiling tiles were introduced with a pebble strip along the floor and up the wall. Very effective in a modern environment.

The above counter vanity with a mirrored cabinet on top gave the owner all the space they required when with out "cluttering" the bathroom.

Bardon

This couple from Bardon wanted us to create a new bathroom with a "European Style Laundry" built into it, and a walk in wardrobe leading into an ensuite off there main bedroom.

The existing space was very tight so they didn't think it was possible to;"fit it all in".

Solution

A new wall was constructed between the existing bathroom and sleep out. The new main bathroom has a laundry and linen press built in behind mirrored sliding doors. This to proved to very effective and made the room feel alot larger.

A exhaust fan and lights were also installed with in the cupboard to help with ventilation and visibility in such a confined space.

The use of floor to ceiling tiles was added to acheive the "open look and classy look" that the couple required.

The ensuite had custom made cabinetry installed to house the much needed walk in wardrobe. This lead through to the very fuctional but small bathroom.

To save on space a pedestal basin was installed, and each had there own personalised mirror and tioletries shelf built in to there cupboards.

The shower rose is the new "bush shower" style that is mounted higher then your head so your hole body is rained on. A very popular option for those who enjoy a long relaxing wash.
