Kitchen and bathroom The brief for this colonial house was to keep the colonial feel but use modern touches and appliances.
Solution A modern edge was achieved by using sharply contrasting colours, deep timbers and downlights.
To preserve the colonial feeling, a VJ profile door was used through out the kitchen in conjunction with the original VJs of the home.
The stainless steel appliances work well in any kitchen design. The owners were very focused on entertaining, so the 900mm "Smeg" cooking package was a must.
The servery was a solid slad of cypress supported by 80mm stainless legs, that tied the kitchen and the pine timber floors together beautifully.
The bathroom has classic mable floor and wall tile that are the same size to create the feeling of a larger area.
Both the tiolet and the wash stand have the stressed timber look. This creates the traditional "colonial bathroom".
The shower was a hob-less design finished with a semi-frameless screen.
